Task Discussion

Hello everyone,
At the request of Julien Dorra we've put together a compilation of all comments on this task here.
Also, you should be receiving feedback on your blog posts today. Keep up the great work!

Sorry I'm really late for this first post, but I had travel, work and others .. It will be better next week
:-) Sorry to for the layout to but my blog is really old and update + post is tricky now :-)
My post : But what is journalism ?best

As the P2PU platform is not really adpated to 60+ comments (with the paging that makes very hard to scan everything), could it be possible to publish all comments here aggregated as a post on P2PU ? That way it would be easy to scan and read posts here.
-
Good suggestion. We'll do that.
Phillip.

Created a ticket for "view all comments" here http://p2pu.lighthouseapp.com/projects/71002-lernanta/tickets/495 -
Late, but I think that's me caught up. Will have the next post there for Monday.
-
I twittered, I facebooked, I told my friends. But I totally forgot to link to my first assignment here on P2PU. Sorry for that. I'll do better next time!
-
Are the weekly assignment posts being automatically aggregated for submission, or must the link be posted here? It occurred to me after today's lecture that although our profiles include a link, my post(s) and others may not be feeding into anything here, at least not that I have found on my profile or another page.
Especially after today's lecture, it seems like something within the realm of possibility that would simplify the process for everyone, and facilitate an inclusive discussion to the benefit of all vs. fragmenting it across 60+ individual blogs.
Thoughts?
-
We were contemplating the idea of aggregating everyone's posts together. Maybe it's worth a re-visit.
In the meantime, please do include a link to the specific post that you'd like included in the assessment here.
Phillip.

In Aza's words, I tried to build the resort town on the other end of the transcontinental railroad, or at least drew up some blueprints. Integrating reader insights into the news cycle
Sorry for the tardiness.

My blog post will appear here, but I'm attending the lecture right now, and am also working on a story deadline today. I'll finish the blog post (and setting up the blog) as soon as I can...
OKAY! So after a sleepless night deadline the other day, and the regular time-takers, I've sorted out my thoughts and I'm back on schedule.
Here is my (third) blog response to this week's content:
MoJo week 1 results: My Strawberry Statement
It should have an iPad-compatible (HTML5) soundslide, but otherwise it runs Flash. I haven't tested the HTML5 compatibility.. but would like to!
I blabbed a bit more before posting that one:
MoJo Week 1 reflection: The strawberry patch mindset
And before that I made a Storify to summarize, organize, and bookmark some of the content from the first week:
MoJo week 1: On hammers and nails
(In which I address a comparison of Burt Herman against Aza Raskin, who both talked about getting your ideas going, by using the Twitterize infographic tool on visual.ly.)

Down to the wire, but here we go! MoJo Week 1: Filter bubbles, problems in ambiguity/ambiguity in problems
Is it possible to make the factors that go into search filtering more transparent? Eager to hear thoughts and insights from folks who know more about this than I do :)
Thanks!
And now back to Chris's super cool lecture...
All best, @mauramaura -
Interesting stuff! Tweeted you a question! :)

Here's my first blog post...enjoy!
Prototyping the PROCESS: What would a GitHub for storytelling look like?

The Un-usability of Media Products
Great first week. I explored the relationship between prototyping, usability and media companies. Arguing that Aza suggested a path forward that would let media companies explore truly new means of content distribution more quickly and efficiently.

Somehow, I managed to tackle the future of news, all three lectures and preliminary project thoughts all in less than 500 words.
For lack of a better title, I've affectionately titled my first week's blog post "The #MozNewsLab way to conceptualize and develop a news innovation idea."

Would love to hear your thoughts and input.
Cheers, y'all!

I think the gamefication of reading the news is a super awesome idea. I'm tackling the same problem but in a completely different way. Gonna go read your second blog post now! Wondering if you dropped the Headliner idea.

Hi All,
Hoped to have submitted this earlier but got sidetracked by a Roman wedding

"Specifically in response to a question on how Burt and his team went from early prototypes to the current incarnation of Storify, he re-emphasised the iterative approach of and gathering feedback from early minimal releases ... and then BAM - out it came, mentioned almost as an aside ..."
Build First, Ask Questions Later
Feedback very much appreciated!
