Learn open practices at School of Open.
What is "open"? Not enough people know what "open" really means. We hear about open source software, open content licenses, such as Creative Commons licenses, open educational resources (OER) - but how do they really work, and how can they help me?
A collaboration with Creative Commons. The School of Open is co-led by P2PU and Creative Commons, a globally-focused nonprofit organization dedicated to making it easier for people to share and build upon the work of others, consistent with the rules of copyright. Creative Commons provides free licenses and other legal tools to give you a simple, standardized way to grant copyright permissions and get credit for your creative work while allowing others to copy, distribute and make specific uses of it.
Learning about "open". The School of "Open" will offer courses, study groups, and design challenges around teaching what "open" means in the world around us, whether it's in education, technology, media, or government. Potential courses include "A History of Openness", "Openness 101", and those already created below! Read more about the initial efforts.
