My unexpected commitments that have kept me from contributing.

Not much.  I did a lot of research last spring, was in a hybrid class in the summer, and attended a conference dealing with Web2.0 tools in the curriculum during late summer.  I've had fun inplementing them in my classroom and trying to move our staff to the "21st century."

Dear Course Organizers (Anna, Chris, Karen),

Could you please tell us if our names will appear on the kit as authors when it's published?

    Thank you,

    Jennifer

Of course. Your name will show as the author of your section. The kit will be CC-BY (see course introduction). Thanks for asking. -Anna

    Hi Anna,

Thanks for your reply. Who will be the main authors of the kit? I guess you cannot write all of our names as authors, so will it be like an edition of a collection of writings, with the facilitators as the editors?

If you could show me what it will look like as a citation, that would be a big help.

    Thanks for your help! :)

    Hi Jennifer.

To be honest, we haven't discussed the specific format of citations. Do you have a preference? Or, specific concerns?

We will be sending out a template for the kit this week as to streamline the process for all involved. If you write a section, you will be named as the author.

    Hope this helps.

    Anna

    Hi Anna,

Thanks for your help. I just need to know what kind of document we are creating (an article? an edited collection?) and what kind of author I am. I'm looking at it as being co-author of a chapter of one chapter of an edited collection of documents (like an edited book, but with a CC licence), but I don't know if this is how you see it. I'll need to be able to cite it, that's why I'm asking.

    Thanks for your help.

    Cheers,
    Jennifer

I would say a group (course participant) authored collection of resources and best practices around using social media and web 2.0 to promote deeper learning.

Chris will be sending a note out today or tomorrow clarifying the format and wiki in which we will all be posting materials.

    Hi Anna,

Oh it's a wiki! Okay, somehow I missed that, sorry. I thought it was a publication of some kind.

Thank you very much for the clarification.

    Cheers,

    Jennifer

If you could share one thing you learned in this course so far with your colleagues, what would you share?

I would share how easy it is to post a shared document with people from everywhere.  I also would show them the importance of participatng in a class that does not necessarily have to have a credit attached to it, just as in the case on internships, I have received more out of the ones I did not get paid for than the ones I did!    Same is true with this type of community!

If you could change one thing about this course so far, what would you change?
Hmmm, maybe havng an email tree - a localized list of emails to immediately call up?

How has your thinking about web 2.0 / social media changed as a result of this course so far?
I have been able to place different approaches of what social media is into categories to see what the difference and impact in each of these areas.
