Audience #1: Post your Blog to the Group

This is a pretty simple task.

To expand your own audience, you have to share your blog around. Please post one or all of the blogs you are currently working on.

By sharing your blog address with the study group you'll give us an opportunity to read your blog posts and provide feedback and support. The blog links that you share will be collected into a single feed that will make following all participant blogs a simple process.

If you are not comfortable posting a link to your blog, please tell us why!

  • Robert Hustwick   24 september 2011 14:02

My blog is found at http://robhustwick.blogspot.com. It's usually posts of me talking about whatever I happen to be reading/watching/listening to at the time. I'd really like to make it more meaningful somehow.

Alright here I am. I recently quit my job as in-house graphic designer as I will be hitting back the road travelling soon (thus I will not be able to participate here as much).

My friend and I run a party website for our city, KLshots.com, and we are still in developing stage fixing bugs etc although the web is running. I will be writing reviews and articles for nightlife and parties in future and I hope to get some feedback, especially those who have experience in writing nightscene reviews.

There is also a personal blog of mine, Wanderfoolproof, where I write random topics, rants, arts and more. I'm looking forward to share stories and experience of my open end journey and hopefully to seed and inspire love in people's lives.

Feedbacks and suggestions are welcome. Thanks! :)

I have been to KL 8-9 years ago. I remember the city to be extremely vibrant. What would be cool for the blog is to focus a little more on that - or give people some additional info. When I first encountered the personal blog, I couldn't really placxe you on a map - and your location is one thing that might be unique and interesting to your audience.

    btw: Love the design!

    Best,

    Stefanie

Thanks Stefanie. Yes indeed it is among the liveliest city in the region. Will certainly take the advice and start developing content when the web is fully functioning. And ya.. why didn't I thought of a map! I studied cartography and I love maps! :) Thanks Stefanie.

    Cheers

    http://etcjournal.com/

Educational Technology & Change Journal (ETC-J) is a non-refereed electronic publication that focuses on developments, trends, ideas, concerns, and issues related to the creative use of information and communications technology to enhance education and training in academic, commercial, and governmental settings.

ETC was first published as Innovate-Blog (I-Blog) from 3 November 2008 to 31 March 2009. On 1 April 2009, ETC became independent of Innovate Journal and changed its name to Educational Technology and Change Journal (ETC-J).

In 2010, it has been nominated in the category “Best Group Blog” at the EDDIE awards.

As the chief editor Jim puts it: “ETC is constantly evolving as we, the editors and writers, explore and discover possibilities. The goal is always to increase ETC’s visibility and level of participation in the global professional community. The ongoing question is, How to take advantage of the blog’s capabilities to develop a journal that’s an integral part of the virtual life of educators? Thus far, we’ve learned that the blog format allows us to be topical, current, dynamic, and interactive – qualities that are not usually associated with academic journals.”

    My blog is at:

    http://goo.gl/sdWgx

It's mainly a food blog called the Pretentious Parsnip but I mix the food with sarcasm, social commentary and my own personal rants (a bit hard to describe) and I take all the food pictures (I'm an hobbyist photographer).

I'm in the process of re-designing the entire thing and I eventually want to start an education blog (I'm a teacher).

The above is where I document the learning I'm receiving at P2PU not necessarily by "blogging" it, but more of just participating in assignments and meeting my peers.

I'll be sure to check yours out, as well!

One of the blogs I work on and that I hope to post more regularly to is my professionally oriented one:

    http://www.jessicaledbetter.com/archive/

I even have a redesign sitting on my computer at home but have been spending my free time on other things (cough Lernanta cough). Time well spent but I definitely need to post regularly, put up a portfolio, and market myself more.

I also have http://jessica.wordpress.com/ which is mostly food but have been posting food/recipes/reviews to flickr instead because it's easier. I might go through and do a giant summation post of flickr'd favorites to wordpress.

I very much liked the 5 reasons NOT to attend a conference. I think it is unusual perspectives that make blogs a great genre.

In 1990s Paris, the photographer - auteur - Marc Riviere wandered the streets of Paris asking perfect strangers if they would show him their breasts for his camera in the name of art. The result was a rather remarkable book of portraits.

"Ah!', you say, "but Paris is the City of Love." So what happens when you attempt to re-create this experiment in highly creative, post-industrial, slightly depressive Manchester: a city in the north of England where it's perpetually raining?

Does it really rain all the time in Manchester? Surely not!

I like your site, very nice, can we leave comments?

In an effort to consolidate my world, I've recently started:

    http://www.zythepsary.com

I blog everything there. I'm way too honest. And I wonder if that is going to come back at me someday.

For what it's worth, I like honest blogs. I doubt I'd ever have to the guts to be really open and honest on my blogs because I will be looking for a job someday. However, I really enjoy reading others' honesty especially when I can nod along in agreement or ponder the difference in thought.

    Hi Jessica -

yes that job seeking thing is also part of my fear. But instead of continuing on my fakerness, I wrote this: http://www.zythepsary.com/manifestos/privacy-is-for-chumps/

    Thanks for reading!

Although I've been working sporadically on two separate blogs, one to do with food and the other to do with my art practice, they need a lot of pruning, tidying, redesign and regeneration. I'm also intending to migrate them both to my own site. They are:

    http://lynncooks.blogspot.com/ - about food

    and

    http://lynnmcook.blogspot.com/ - about art

So as to have a place to practise writing every day, and feeling inspired by our meeting, I decided to try out Wordpress and started this blog:

    http://ofmville.wordpress.com/

  • Pippa Buchanan   13 maj 2011 08:47

    I have two primary blogs:

    http://battlecat.net My personal blog.

http://learninglearning.wordpress.com Professional and Learning Focussed Blog

I also blog about boat building and some other projects at other blogs but will share those links in my main blogs where appropriate.

    www.HomeSweetRoam.com

For now it's a blog about our camping and road trip adventures.  I don't update it unless we're out on a trip right now, but I'm going to start doing regular updates regardless of travel, starting this month.  Eventually it will chronicle the transition for my wife and I, of buying and living in a RV full time, with our 2 dogs.
