I will be doing several summaries next week, which won't be tasks (just my summaries of course activities). Tomorrow, I will post a task inviting you to share math celebration ideas, which will be a bonus task. It has been an interesting journey for me, for sure! So many things I learned... For example, the original syllabus had about 5% overlap with people's interests and had to be reworked. Computer-based vs. computer-delivered math makes no sense to people as categories. Being an evil overlord is fun, theoretically at least. Rock on!

Meta: are we discussing the book here in comments? Can one reply to a particular comment?

Homeschooling and unschooling grew "a bit" since the book came out: for example, about 7% of US kids with college educated parents are now educated by families. However, peer groups, communities and networks form a separate phenomenon - not quite "do it yourself." As many of my colleagues in homeschooling explain, "It's not at home, and it's not schooling" - not by yourself and not in an institution.

My friend and I reviewed some of these emerging educator commons here: http://blog.p2pfoundation.net/family-educator-commons/2010/08/09 I think it resonates wi
